As of January 1st 2008, the Cyprus national currency is the EURO. Before this date the Cyprus Pound (CYP) was the official currency of Cyprus. On 10 July 2007 the EU Finance Ministers decided to set permanent exchange rate, EUR 1.00 = CYP 0.585274.
